Veteran Services is a breakout category.
While our veteran population receives all services that any other client receives, the distinction for them is a compensation and pension benefit that they need a physician to sign off on.
The DBQ or “Disability Benefits Questionnaire” is a federally regulated veteran benefit form that can be completed by Peace of Mind and Dr. Nebel is uniquely qualified to complete this form.
The US Deptartment of Veteran Affairs states this on their site:
“According to the 2012 U.S. Census brief, Veterans age 65 or older numbered in excess of 12.4 million. These Veterans served in conflicts around the world including World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and even in the Persian Gulf War. As Veterans age, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will provide benefits and services that address a variety of issues including the changing health risks they face, as well as financial challenges through VA benefits and health services.”
The mission of Peace of Mind’s Veterans Care service is to provide specialized geriatric care and consultation for this specific population, understanding that their care is both unique, underserved and completely necessary.
The ability of Dr. Nebel and Peace of Mind to complete the DBQ is one of the ways that we partner with Veteran Affairs to serve and assist in accessing every benefit and service available to our veterans.
