FAQs

Peace of Mind Aging does not accept insurance — and that’s intentional. By operating outside of insurance networks, we’re able to provide:

  • Longer, more personalized visits
  • Faster access to care with minimal wait times
  • Direct, responsive support without the red tape of traditional systems

This model allows us to focus fully on what matters most: you and your loved one’s well-being. It also allows you to keep health information private.
Instead of billing insurance, we offer a simple monthly subscription model. You’ll be invoiced through Stripe, a secure payment platform. We do keep your insurance information on file to place orders (such as prescriptions, labs, or referrals), but we do not submit claims to your insurance company.
If you have questions about how this works or what’s included, we’re happy to walk you through it.

Most geriatric practices only accept patients after they’ve declined significantly. We work with individuals and families earlier to prevent or slow that decline — putting personalized plans in place before there’s a crisis, so you’re prepared and supported when it matters most.

The monthly subscription includes:

  • Medical management of health conditions
  • Personalized care planning and guidance from Dr. Nebel
  • Regularly scheduled virtual or in-person visits
  • Direct messaging access for questions and concerns
  • Coordination of care with other providers when needed
  • Ongoing education and access to support for caregivers
  • In-home lab draws depending on your location.

This model allows for a more proactive, engaged approach to memory care — focused on quality, not quantity.

Yes. We understand that sometimes families simply need expert guidance at a specific moment. One-time consultations are available and can be a helpful first step to clarify a diagnosis, explore next steps, or create a care roadmap. If you’d like to transition to a subscription afterward, we can discuss that together.

Individuals often reach out for help with:

  • Evaluating physical declines associated with aging
  • Diagnosing and understanding memory changes or dementia
  • Planning for future care needs
  • Managing difficult behaviors or personality changes
  • Navigating caregiver burnout and family stress
  • Communicating with other doctors or specialists

Whether you’re facing uncertainty or just want a second opinion, we’re here to help you feel more in control.

Yes. Caregiver support is central to what we do. Dr. Nebel provides education, coaching, and compassionate guidance to help caregivers understand what’s happening, respond effectively to changes, and care for themselves while caring for others.

Memory issues may be a concern if you or your loved one are:

  • Frequently forgetting appointments or conversations
  • Repeating questions or stories
  • Misplacing items more often
  • Becoming more withdrawn or less interested in social interactions
  • Showing changes in personality, mood, or personal appearance

If you notice one or more of these changes, it could be a sign of a more serious memory issue or the early stages of dementia. It’s important to seek professional guidance for a proper evaluation and next steps.

A dementia care consultation may be helpful if:

  • You’re caring for someone with a dementia diagnosis or suspected memory decline
  • You have questions about how their condition may progress
  • You feel unsure or overwhelmed about how to support their needs
